Reflecting Anacreon

She was weaving once a garland

When I appeared among the roses;

Then my wings she lifted drowned

In her wine, she drank me down.

Now I amid her body tickle her with wings.

Envoi

Why teach me laws of rhetoric?

What good these useless speeches?

When you could teach me how

To drink a draft of Dionysus,

And how to play with golden Aphrodite.
